Sarvatajnana
(Sabine A Deiringer, PhD)

I’ve explored pathways to relaxation since 2002, starting with yoga, then adding gentler somatic techniques, Buddhist meditation, breath relaxation, secular mindfulness training and pathways to profound relaxation, such as autogenics, progressive muscle relaxation and yoga nidra.

Initially, I was interested in managing stress, shyness and PMS. Some years later, my need to ease chronic pain and insomnia led me to learn more about how the nervous system and trauma can affect relaxation. In recent years I have been particularly interested in the connections between relaxation and Buddhist meditation.

From 2016-17, I trained as a relaxation therapist in Germany. In 2017, I started teaching relaxation courses at the Cambridge Buddhist Centre and taking on individual clients.

I regularly practice everything I teach and continue training in intermediate autogenics and yoga nidra.

My Buddhist order name, Sarvatajnana, means "knowing interconnectedness" or "awareness of totality" and I hope to bring some of the name's intention to relaxation teaching.
